À propos
Starry Night at the Beach is a new acrylic painting by Gayle Halliwell that is debuting in a show of works at the New Iceland Heritage Museum in Gimli: These Waters. Eight Interlake artists have created works in paint, glass, and pottery for the exhibition--all inspired by the waters that surround us in mind, body and soul. The show runs from Sept. 6 through October 29, and during Culture Days includes workshops, demonstrations, and art talks. Make Your Starry Night at the Beach is a workshop led by Gayle. She will talk about her painting and then take you through the intricate folding of fabric to create an 8-pointed Nordic star, that can become your own inspiration for a starry night! The 8-pointed star has significance in many cultures, and special meanings for Nordic cultures will be introduced during the activity. Pre-registration is required.

New Iceland Heritage Museum & Independent Artists
NIHM is the premiere museum located in Gimli and partners with organizations and individuals to provide exhibits that extend our understanding of the Icelandic experience, the cultural and natural surroundings of the area, and the science and technology that make our world today.
The independent artists in These Waters are Interlake residents from a variety of cultural and artistic backgrounds that all have one thing in common: the love of Lake Winnipeg.
