À propos

This is a participatory event which will engage you as an artist as well as having the opportunity of touring artwork in our 5 star Lions Heritage Park, starring our famous old "81". Your experience will also include reliving the memories stored in our Heritage Railway Museum, told anew by the curator.

Participants will take part in the current craze of rural artwork by painting a 1' x 1' barn quilt which they will be able to take home with them, as well as enjoy the barn quilts and other unique features in the Lions Heritage Park, either by walking the trail or travelling by our unique train system throughout the park. Everyone will also be able to tour the Palmerston Heritage Railway Museum to view the historical items and hear how the railway industry has impacted Wellington County for the last 150 years.

Our hope is that everyone enjoy the creating process, savor their tour throughout our park on a fall day and learn something new by visiting the past in our railway museum.

Recommended for ages 12+.

This event is possible through a collaboration of 3 Palmerston entities which, together, will create an entertaining whole experience for our participants as this event is guaranteed to handsomely treat all of your senses. The first 2 organizations operate year round while the latter is considered seasonal.

The Palmerston Lions Club maintains an unparalleled park that offers unique features. Their mandate is simply, To Serve, and they do this unconditionally in our town. The Trail Association is quickly growing in this area and their mission is to be an organizer and promoter of barn quilt trails and has already put together a first rate artwork walking trail. The railway museum and it's curator act as a wealth of knowledge for 150 year's worth of railway in Wellington County.
