À propos

Visit Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre to view Brenton Wang's exhibition, The Spirit of Adventure, in the Youth Corridor.

Artist Brenton Wang offers the following insights to this exhibition:

"During the creation of this series, the unique and humorous art of Mattias Adolfsson has constantly lingered in my mind, providing immense inspiration. Initially, I tried to express my thoughts through sculpting fantastical scenes and creating mining robots, but eventually, I opted for an expression style that blends cuteness with a doodle aesthetic. In the process of trying to express texture on a flat surface, I encountered numerous challenges, and ultimately chose to use materials such as cardboard and sand to create a rough texture. I also experimented with using stained wooden boards to enhance the vintage feel of the artworks, and employed bright primary colors to pay homage to the sci-fi works of the 1950s, while deliberately softening the colors to convey the traces of time and a nostalgic feeling towards the past.

Overall, I hope these artworks serve as a touching experience for the soul. They not only showcase a world full of fantasy but also express reflections on modern life and praise for the spirit of exploration. I hope that everyone who views these works can, while appreciating them, rediscover the wildness and desire for the unknown world that has been long neglected deep within their hearts."
