Organisateur

Naomi Steinberg

Born on Canada's supernatural westcoast, in beautiful Coast Salish territories, of French and Jewish descent, Naomi Steinberg is an internationally recognized artist and storyteller. She has brought traditional folk stories, fairy tales and community-based art projects to life in countries around the world since 2001. www.naomisteinberg.ca

In 2015 Naomi voyaged around the Earth without taking an airplane. She told her hand-spun story, Goosefeather, wherever she went, and has published a book about the experience: www.goosefeather.ca

For the Cambie Corridor Lament, it is from her unique position as vulnerable renter in an ancestral home situated on the Cambie Corridor, that she is investigating the role of ritual-artist and witness. In 2018, Naomi began documenting the multiple demolition, excavation, and construction sites in a four block radius of her home, through photography and video.

Our creative collective's 2020 pivot onto digital platforms brought new tools with which to experiment. For this storyteller it resulted in an evocative reel.
