In this exhibition, Wayne Simpson explores his culture and shares it through film making and photography. This research and storytelling project and exhibition continue his fascinating and informative journey of reconciliation and understanding his heritage. It centres on community members of the Aamjiwnaang First Nation, where Wayne grew up as a small child. This body of work is deeply meaningful and communicates life and culture through the eyes of someone who was removed from it when he was 7 years old. We are honoured to share this momentous journey of discovery with Wayne, and broaden our own knowledge and understanding of cultural practices, challenges and connection.
