2018 Indigenous Music Awards nominee Melody McKiver performs Sunday afternoon at 2pm on the March St. stage (80 March St.), part of the Indigenous Arts Market at Dream Big: Baawating Arts Festival.
MELDOY MCKIVER is a Two-Spirit Anishinaabe composer and violist. They have performed internationally as a solo artist, side musician, and as a traditional dancer. They compose and arrange music for Indigenous dance, theater, and film productions. Previously based in Ottawa, Toronto, and St. John's, Melody now proudly lives in their homelands in Sioux Lookout Ontario, adjacent to Obishikokaang Lac Seul First Nation of which they are a member. Their most recent release is Reckoning EP (December 2017), which comes from the Article Elevent theater triptych of the same name. Melody is booking dates in 2018 to support Reckoning EP.
