Be part of some historic adventures, narrated by Steve Nichol, past president of the B.C. Aviation Museum, as he presents two captivating stories. First, dive into the fascinating life of the Hawaii Martin Mars water bomber - the largest Allied flying boat ever built by the U.S. Navy before WWII. After being decommissioned, this marvel of aviation engineering went on to have a long and heroic career fighting fires on Vancouver Island.
Next, experience the gripping adventure of Steve’s own high-seas rescue in 1980. With ease, wit, and vivid storytelling, Steve brings this harrowing and miraculous minute-by-minute rescue to life. You’ll be on the edge of your seat, gasping along with every twist.
The event wraps up with a fun and hilarious Fact or Fiction Contest, where you’ll test your history knowledge by guessing the use of mystery artifacts.
