Trophy X Dream Weavers:

Storytelling that Transforms Us

Step into a circle of light and story.

Trophy X Dream Weavers transforms Stratford’s historic Grand Trunk site into a glowing village of ten intimate tents, each one home to a powerful tale of transformation, hope, and the dreams that shape who we are. Inside each softly lit space, local storytellers share personal stories that reflect the heart of our region—its turning points, quiet awakenings, and bold aspirations. Audiences of 3-4 are invited into each tent for a close, immersive experience unlike any other.

After each story, participants are invited to respond—through words or drawings—on colorful acetate sheets that become part of a growing installation inside each tent, weaving together the dreams of many into one luminous community tapestry. Guiding questions like “What moment changed everything for you?” spark both introspection and connection. With storytellers of all ages, including dedicated tents for young voices, Trophy X Dream Weavers is a celebration of imagination, resilience, and shared futures.

This is a free, all-ages event.

Co-presented by Trophy, the Provocation Ideas Festival, City of Stratford, and investStratford in collaboration with Pathways To Poetry Festival and Stratford Writers Festival.

Organisateur

Provocation Ideas Festival

The Provocation Ideas Festival (PIF) is a bold and inclusive celebration of ideas that invites communities to dream, debate, and imagine new possibilities for the future. Founded in Toronto in 2022 and expanded to Stratford in 2023, the festival is a civic-minded, interdisciplinary gathering that uses the arts, dialogue, and storytelling to spark reflection and challenge assumptions. From the promise and perils of AI to reconciliation and the state of democracy, PIF explores the most pressing issues of our time through a dynamic mix of performances, public art, conversations, and interactive installations—many offered free of charge to ensure accessibility and broad participation.

At its core, Provocation is about reimagining the public square—a space where everyone has a voice and where difficult, meaningful conversations can unfold. With programming that includes storytelling tents, AI-generated art, participatory dance, photo exhibits, and community walks, the festival creates immersive and engaging experiences that break down barriers between disciplines, communities, and ideas. Whether through a CBC broadcast, a neighbourhood design challenge, or a music-infused panel on identity, PIF cultivates a space for curiosity, connection, and creative civic engagement.

Since its launch, the festival has hosted over 70 events, drawn 5,000 in-person attendees, and reached more than 2 million listeners nationwide. It has conducted national surveys on topics from justice and democracy to free expression and the environment, and forged over 25 partnerships with leading organizations including CBC IDEAS, Luminato, the Toronto International Festival of Authors, the University of Waterloo, the University of Toronto, the Toronto Public Library, the Stratford Public Library, and the Stratford Perth Museum. With the support of over 30 financial and in-kind sponsors, Provocation continues to grow as a catalyst for public imagination—offering a platform not just for what is, but for what could be.
