Day 1 of the Film Festival has networking and industry information sessions, impactful short films, and the opening night reception and Gala with the feature presentation from Brazil! This is a great day for students and those interested in getting more involved with Alberta's film and tv industry!

12:00 pm - Free Screening - AIWFF Kick Off

Documentary: We All Believe in you

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm - Industry Session

Where are the jobs? This one-hour session will look at jobs, career paths, and where the unions and guilds fit in. Presented with IATSE Local 210, ICG 669 (camera), ACTRA, DGC and Teamsters.

2:00 pm – 2:30 pm - Networking

2:30 pm - 3:30 pm - Industry Session: How to be an Entrepreneur.

3:30 pm - 4:30 pm – Documentary Shorts - Trailblazing Women

Under the Weight of Remorse (Brazil)

Four women and one regret. The unusual encounter between Gloria, a brash university professor, Isabel Cristina, a romantic forty-year-old, Duda a problematic teenager, and Adelaide and depressive housewife. This movie will unleash a plot full of conflict, humour, suspense, and a surprisingly end.
