À propos

Join us for a fun and creative Gelli printing workshop! Participants will learn how to use a brayer to coat a Gelli plate with a fine layer of acrylic paint. With the provided stencils, stamps, Indian wooden printing blocks, natural elements like leaves, and recycled materials, participants can create unique textured impressions on the plate. Once the design is ready, place a piece of paper over the prepared Gelli plate, smooth it over with your hands to ensure contact, count to 10, and lift the paper to reveal a beautiful print. This entire activity takes less than 5 minutes, and everyone walks away with a unique piece of art.

This hands-on workshop is suitable for all ages, with both adults and kids enjoying the quick and creative process. Don't miss the opportunity to learn and create!

Taruna Singh

Taruna is an Oakville-based mixed media artist whose work is a vibrant exploration of multiculturalism, travel, and natural wonder. Her art, rich with texture and layered meaning, delves into themes of displacement and assimilation, reflecting her diverse experiences and profound insights. After earning an associate degree in Art and Advertising Design from NYC Technical College, Taruna dedicated two decades to graphic design before the pandemic rekindled her passion for fine art. Her distinctive approach combines paper, photography, typography, foliage, paint, and dry media to create compelling visual narratives that navigate the complexities of identity and belonging. Taruna's work is featured in collections across Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, including her significant piece, "Chakras," recently acquired by St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto for their Patient and Family Learning Centre.
