In celebration of Alberta Culture Days and The Leighton Foundation's 45th Anniversary, Leighton Art Centre invites you to its annual autumn event!

*New this year* we're hosting a 45th Anniversary Tea & Talk between 12 and 1:30 pm on Saturday September 28th.

Both days, we'll also be presenting:

- Plein-Air Art Making (BYO Supplies)

- Mini-Workshops

- Weaving Demonstrations

- Indoor Exhibition '94th Annual Open Water' (reception Saturday 2 - 4 pm)

- Outdoor Installation 'Vital Lines' (last weekend!)

More details will be posted as they become available!

On Friday September 27th, we will be open 10am-4pm as usual. Our Museum and outdoor spaces will be available, but we may still be putting the final touches on our new exhibition '94th Annual Open Water' in our Gallery.

Leighton Art Centre

Leighton Art Centre (LAC) is an Art Gallery, Museum and Arts Education Centre located on 80 acres just outside of Calgary, near Millarville in the Alberta MD of Foothills. Situated in A.C. Leighton and Barbara Leighton’s original home, LAC houses a vibrant display of Alberta’s artists, both past and present. Leighton Art Centre was established by Barbara Leighton in 1970 and was incorporated as a society in 1974.

Today LAC is open to the public and offers a wide range of programming including Art & Nature and Art to Go programs for schools and community groups, Professional Development Days for Teachers and Support Staff, Art & Nature Summer Camps, Adult & Family Nature Education, Collaborative Artist Residencies (daytime, non-residential), Professional Artist Workshops, Contemporary Art Exhibitions, rotating Museum Displays, Art Sales and Special Events.
