À propos
Mireille Gagnon Moes creates unique fibre/ textiles works from her studio on St. Joseph Island located at 1220 D Line (airplane mailbox).
Mireille also known as “Fleurdefibre” works in a variety of textile based crafts such as; hand spinning, hand weaving, hand dyeing, and hand felting which skills are applied to the recycling of discarded material in many of her pieces.
Many displays of her work will be set up nearby her studio in the outdoors. One can expect to see hand dyed mohair socks in a range of original colour schemes. The most popular product from her studio over the years!
If requested, Mireille will demonstrate hand-spinning wool on her spinning wheel.
Free admission, free parking, French spoken.

Mireille Gagnon Moes "fleurdefibre".
I am a self-employed, independent fibre/textile craft/artisan/artist. I am process oriented, self taught with attendance to specialized courses/classes/workshops from master practitioners. Exhibited extensively locally (Algoma/Sudbury region) won awards, originated and curated a fine crafts exhibition “Wabi Sabi” in Richards Landing for the first 5 years of the event. (2000-2005). Wabi Sabi stopped in 2020.
During the pandemic, I taught Zoom sessions sponsored by AlgomaTrad and Thinking Rock. Made a commissioned piece for Jumblies Theatre, Toronto. Participated in a in person and virtual group exhibition “(dé)coupures”.
I have not stopped learning and creating in the fibre/textile medium from the first day I started some 40 years ago. This is what I do year-round as long as I have my health!
