À propos

In Mother Tongue/ Ehts’o Ket’a, Bruno Canadien gives back to his grandmothers, reflecting their Dené artistic tradition in his new series of paintings and assemblages. Taking artwork made by his family as his inspiration, Canadien meditates on art, language, sovereignty, legacy, and relations, and presents Dené/Métis iconography in a new context, recreating connections with his ancestors and future generations of Dené. Bruno Canadien is a member of Deh Gah Got’ıé First Nation, Dehcho Region, Denendeh, currently residing in the Calgary area, Treaty 7.
