À propos

"Solutions for the Sea and Soil"

Join Take a Stand: Youth for Conservation for a screening of STAND—a beautiful and moving documentary about the ongoing efforts to protect BC’s iconic Great Bear Rainforest and coastline from fossil fuel tankers and pipeline development.

In celebration of Culture Days, take meaningful action to safeguard our spectacular coastal ecosystems and communities by participating in an art-based Innovation Challenge contest.

After a short intermission, enjoy a presentation on how the film connects the land and sea, and discover how you can get involved with local initiatives in Qualicum Beach focused on conservation and environmental regeneration.

🎶 The event will also feature a special performance by The Sidewalk Cellist, sharing selections from her Orca Tour and album, Pacific Rain.

🌱 The first 75 people to register will receive a native berry bush from Streamside Native Plants, generously funded by the Ocean Wise Ocean Action Grant.

All ages are welcome—including conservation groups, students, home learners, youth, families, adults, seniors, educators, and anyone who cares about the natural world and wants to take part in climate-conscious action.

Registration is encouraged!
