In view of the influx of new immigrants from Taiwan to Canada, around 40 Taiwanese Canadians in Vancouver established the Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Society (TCCS) in 1991 as a non-profit registered charity organization in Canada.

For years, TCCS has made relentless efforts to foster multiculturalism, help raise mutual respect for diversity, and promote racial harmony and equality in Canada. With these efforts, TCCS has become the largest non-profit charitable Taiwanese-Canadian organization in BC and an essential gateway for the public to access information and knowledge of Taiwan.

The current mandates of TCCS are to promote Taiwanese arts and culture to the general public of all ages and facilitate cultural exchange between Canada and Taiwan.

TCCS operates the Taiwanese Culture Centre in Vancouver to offer Art gallery exhibitions, a community library, language workshops, and a breadth of cultural and arts activities and lessons to welcome the general public to enjoy and appreciate.
