À propos

Dust off your moccasins and get on the dance floor! Learn about the Métis national dance: the Red River Jig and try out some fancy footwork in a laid-back "Métis kitchen party" style workshop that is fun for the whole family.

Artist Bio: Perelandra Waddle is an interdisciplinary Métis performer with ancestry from in the Red River, Manitoba and St. Louis Saskatchewan. Perelandra started their dance training by learning Western dance styles like ballet, jazz, tap and hip-hop as a child, and went on to study contemporary dance at Simon Fraser University. Into their adulthood, they began learning traditional Métis jigging under the guidance of renowned jigger and knowledge keeper Yvonne Chartrand and went on to join the Louis Riel Métis Dancers and the dance company V'ni Dansi. They look forward to sharing their passion for dance and Métis culture wherever they go.

The Douglas J. Husband Discovery Centre is an accessible space for dialogue and discovery about our community’s past, present, and future. Featuring authentic objects, digital experiences, and fascinating stories, all are welcome to engage with Delta’s storied history.

Learn by using the touchscreens in our galleries and creating new land forms in our sand table. Watch our water table demonstrate how the region of Delta was formed over 9000 years and use a wand to activate the animals in the habitat theatre. Visit and discover Delta today
