Shō Art Studios is a not-for-profit arts, heritage and cultural hub housed in the Danzig industrial complex, 628 Monmouth Road located in the historic Walkerville District.

Shō Art Studios began in a small 1,000 sq. ft. arts pop-up garage in 2009. Behind the red door the original studio still exists. Over the last 16 years we have grown, the Shō facilities, now 35,000 sq. ft’, accommodates 35 studios and 4 event spaces.

For those who enjoy hearing about Walkerville district’s unique history, the Danzig building is the original home of Hiram Walker’s Walkerside Dairy, built in 1904.

On the south facade of the building you can still see the original horse head openings, now bricked up, where the horses that led the milk carts servicing Walkerville were once stabled.

Shō is dedicated to unfolding the history and the repurposing of this heritage building all the while supporting the artistic community that creates here.

On September 27th come celebrate Ontario Culture Days 2025 with us !

We invite you to stop by and see the gem that is Shō Art Studios.

Shō will be all ‘gussied’ up, tour our heritage building, view our linear galleries full of visual art, meet and chat with the wonderful artists working here, tour their studios.

And stay for tea, coffee and desserts in the Shō Tea Room.
