À propos
Step into the rhythm and embrace the rich heritage of Mexican dance with Alexis Diaz and Sofia Armstrong. This class is designed to introduce you to the essential steps and rhythms of Zapateado, a traditional Mexican dance. Experience the lively and rhythmic footwork that characterizes this dance, celebrated for its energetic and expressive qualities. Whether you are a beginner or have some dance experience, this class will provide you with a foundational understanding of the Zapateado's unique style and cultural significance. Alexis boasts over 20 years in the field and currently teaches Mexican folkloric dance to kids in the GTA. Sofia, with more than 15 years of experience, has worked alongside Alexis as a former UNESCO CIOFF member and is a co-founder of the OFRENDA Festival, one of Toronto's pioneering "Día de los Muertos" folklore festivals.
