À propos

Participants will learn the basics of Indigo dying through demonstrations and a variety of Indigo-dyed scarves, botanical print scarves, print paste, and cyanotype work. Examples of a

a dye in progress and resists (stitch, clamp, bound, clay, wax) will also be available. For an additional cost of materials, be instructed on how to dye their own bandana if desired.

Join this event to learn more about this ancient dye -- a living dye that needs to be maintained by the artist.

Riverview Arts is a beautiful setting in which to relax, have your lunch or go for a walk on several trails. There will also be older work on display in the loft: paintings, pottery, reduction woodcuts, and monotypes.

Riverview Arts

I am a retired teacher who returned to university for my BFA upon retirement, graduating in 2003 with great distinction. I have been involved in the art community: Shellbrook Arts Council, Chair-Mann Art Gallery, Carfac Board, chair- Saskculture, and HOST drama director/actor. I love art and love to teach, so welcome people to my gallery.

In 2003, I moved the barn my father built to my river hill and converted it into my art studio. It is a landmark, easily seen as one travels North on Highway 55 from Shellbrook. I practice arts there doing indigo, cyanotypes, print pastes, and botanical prints. ( I make the dyes used in botanical prints from trees and plants on my acreage. )
