MT Space invites you to join us for Arts Exchange Encounters: a mini-festival presenting local IBR artists from Waterloo Region!

Arts Exchange is an initiative developed by MT Space in 2020 as a way to keep Waterloo Region artists employed and active in the arts during the height of COVID-19 restrictions and loss of employment. Arts Exchange gives IBR artists in the Waterloo Region the opportunity to explore new artistic partnerships, collaborate on new or existing projects, mentor each other in similar or new disciplines, and join the community of local IBR artists who aim to elevate each other's work.

Participants are paired up based on interests or ideas, practices and disciplines or any general matches that have the potential for magic. Artists are free to use their time together as they wish: to exchange ideas, processes, and even mentor one another. There is NO expectation to have a finalized product by the end of the exploration.

Now, at the end of the program, artists are sharing what they've created to an audience: these are interdisciplinary works-in-progress, visual arts creations, poems, theatre, music, curated conversations, and more!

Founded in 2004 by Majdi Bou-Matar, MT Space has grown from producing one show every year to a touring company that also presents a season of theatre and a biennial international theatre festival called IMPACT.

Now under the leadership of Pam Patel, MT Space continues to engage and challenge audiences, bringing different communities together to create a community of difference.
