À propos

*It will be live performances on October 7, and be online from October 8 through out the BC Culture Days.*

We live in a vivid, colourful world. And In the eyes of our dancers, each dance has its colour and meaning. The Vancouver We Dance Association of Canada brings a brand-new production, the Colour of Dances, that highlights different aspects of Chinese culture through visually stunning storytelling, choreography, and beautiful costumes. The Colour of Dances consists of six components and each part is presented in different colours: Red, Green, Blue, Pink, White, and Orange. Red and Green, those two dances bring to life the spirit of ancient China. Blue is a contemporary dance to express people's feelings, and Pink presents the culture and customs of Jiang Nan style, the southern China. To all of us who love ancient Chinese culture, dance and music, be prepared to enjoy some classic Chinese music and songs as well. We assign them to White and Orange colours.

Organisateur

Vancouver We Dance Association

Established in early 2021, the Vancouver We Dance Association of Canada is made of members of Chinese mothers who love life, passionate about dance. The purpose of VWDAC is to serve their communities, promote multiculturalism in Greater Vancouver, and increase cross-cultural communication.

Ms Jun Liu, the teacher of VWDAC, was originally the main performer of The Political Department of Nanjing Military Art Troupe. She graduated from Beijing Dance Academy and won numerous awards in many dance competitions not only nationwide but also worldwide. Under her careful guidance, VWDAC has formed a healthy environment between teaching and learning; interconnecting the learned techniques and live performance; bridging and mixing the different dancing styles between classic and modern, ethnic and western. VWDAC will present more works originated or inspired by our life. We hope to attract more interest from friends, who love their life and are passionate about dancing, to join our loving family, and enjoy the miracles brought by dance.
