I am a painter and a member of the Elora Fergus Arts Council and the Elora Fergus Studio Tour. Flags to Heal Our Planet is a transformative community engagement project that draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Tibetan culture. Launched in 2023 as part of Centre Wellington Ontario Culture Days, this project marries art with purpose, inviting individuals from all walks of life to unite in a common mission: healing our planet through creativity and collective intention.
Our journey started with workshops held during the summer months where participants, guided by local artist Indra Dosanjh, harnessed the power of printmaking techniques using homemade Gelli Plates and repurposed bed sheets. In each flag, a piece of the artist’s soul and the participant’s creativity intertwine, creating a visual representation of unity in diversity.
These flags are not mere creations; they are collaborative expressions of our shared commitment to a better world. Each print, design, and symbol embodies a collective vision for a brighter future—a future shaped by art and the unwavering belief that every intention can inspire change.
