À propos
Join us for a workshop on traditional blueprint and wire art from Slovakia. Participants in the workshop will get to create their own blueprint ceramic-look-alike plate, textile blueprint book-mark and wire bird with guidance from our instructors. This event is aimed for children ages 5 to 14 years old.
Please be advised that guardians must stay with their children for the duration of the workshop. The hall will be open from 11am to 3pm, but participants can arrive and leave at anytime as instructions will be individualized. Estimated time needed to create all three folk creations is estimated 45-60min.
The workshop will be presented in English, so knowledge of Slovak language is not needed.
Organisateur
Slovak School in Vancouver
Slovak School in Vancouver was established in 2018 with primary focus to teach and preserve Slovak language and learn about Slovak history, culture and heritage, mostly for elementary school aged children. Our students attend school on the weekends during the school year and participate in many international literary and art contests organized for similar schools around the world. With passion for our national folklore and art, many creative projects are included in our weekly learning. Come join us to create your own masterpieces!
The event will be held at the hall next to the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Parish in New Westminster. For those wishing to learn more about Slovakia, the hall will be decorated with displays on Slovak cultural heritage. The workshop will be presented in both Slovak and English language.
