The West Vancouver Community Arts Council (WVCAC), established in 1968, is a not-for-profit arts council that advocates for both visual and performing artists. Our mandate is to provide opportunities for the community to enjoy and participate in cultural activities, deliver visual, literary and performing arts programs, foster interest in our diverse cultural heritage, and promote the many talented individuals living and working in our community.
The WVCAC operates the Silk Purse Arts Centre, programming 18 exhibitions a year, a weekly concert series, creative writing workshops, drop-in community choir, storytelling & theatre, art demos & workshops, & providing affordable space for local arts and culture groups to run activities. The WVCAC also produces the First Thursdays Art Walk & programs exhibitions at the Kay Meek Arts Centre.
