À propos

Created in 2011 to commemorate Vancouver’s 125th anniversary as an incorporated city, Places that Matter (PTM) has grown to recognize over 100 community-nominated sites that represent some of the people, places and events that tell the stories of Vancouver’s history.

Join Michael Kluckner, Past President of Vancouver Historical Society, and Jessica Quan, Community Engagement Manager at Vancouver Heritage Foundation, for an evening dedicated to reflecting on 15 years of PTM. They will be joined in conversation by members of some of the PTM sites who can speak to the importance and value of these places and spaces in our community.

Vancouver Heritage Foundation

Vancouver Heritage Foundation (VHF) advances the appreciation and conservation of our city’s diverse heritage places and their stories. We raise awareness of the vital contribution that heritage makes to a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable community.

We host informative events and workshops, create resources about Vancouver’s history and heritage places, and provide financial and practical support for the successful conservation of historic buildings and sites.

VHF recognizes the diverse history and cultural heritage of Vancouver and that the city is located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam),Sḵwx̱ wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples.
