À propos

Join photographer Andrea Rees for a hands on learning experience on Smartphone photography. The workshop will teach participants how to get the most out of their smartphone camera by teaching ways to shoot and edit professional images without the need for expensive photography equipment.

In partnership with the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives, the workshop will encourage participants to have conversations about the photography process, problem solving while viewing the Brampton cityscape through a new lens. It will enable participants to immediately put into practice the tips and tricks of smartphone photography. Simultaneously, the workshop will highlight the historical significance of the city, acknowledging the key areas of the downtown.

Please note this workshop will take place outdoors where participants will be led around various locations in the Downtown Core of Brampton. Should it rain, the event will go ahead as normal. Suitable weather attire is strongly advised.

City of Brampton

The City of Brampton Cultural Services Division provides strategic leadership and project management for municipal cultural development in Brampton and is guided by the Council endorsed Culture Master Plan.

Key priorities for the division include:

Supporting the Arts, Culture and Tourism Cornerstone of the City’s COVID-19 Economic Recovery Strategy.

Oversight for the start-up and incubation of Brampton’s first Arts, Culture and Creative Industry Development Agency, providing a range of in-demand programs and services in the areas of funding, finance and investment, advocacy, innovation, sector development and growth.

Management of the Brampton Arts Walk of Fame, one of the City’s key recognition programs, celebrating and building connections with the incredible artistic and creative talent emerging from Brampton, while inspiring the next generation of artists and creators in Brampton to follow in their footsteps.

Development of Brampton’s non-profit sector, building organizational capacity and administering project grants that support Term of Council Priorities through the Advance Brampton Fund.

Growing and developing the municipal public art portfolio, contributing to the city’s visual legacy and building Brampton’s identity as a vibrant, creative place for residents, visitors and investment attraction.

PAMA is an accessible, safe space for the diverse communities of the Region of Peel (Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga) to come together and celebrate arts and culture. We strive to be a place where you can see yourself reflected and actively contribute to building a “Community for Life”.

It’s a place to explore and learn about Peel's culture and heritage, as well as use conversation, questions and stories to help make new and fascinating connections to the surrounding community. PAMA offers a variety of workshops and programs for all ages, families, and adults. There is something for everyone.

Our buildings are our largest artifacts. The site is made of historic buildings: the Peel County Courthouse and Jail, the former Registry Office, and the Modernist Building.
