Choose a color to represent your voice and add it to a canvas regarding the Diefenbaker Canada Centre's mandate of 'building on Diefenbaker's legacy by celebrating citizenship, leadership, and human rights'. Get creative! Big or small, realistic or abstract, let your voice be heard!

Take part in a collaborative art exhibit that will be on display at the Diefenbaker Canada Centre from September 30th to October 25th. Engage artistically with the the Diefenbaker Canada Centre's mandate by adding your voice through paint about which part of the centre's mandate is most important to you.

Instructions:

Three black canvases with the words ‘Sask Voices Matter’ painted in black across them will be set up in the lobby for the public to paint on. You will have the opportunity to add your voice, drawing on the Diefenbaker Canada Centre’s mandate of ‘building on Diefenbaker’s legacy by celebrating citizenship, leadership, and human rights.’ If there’s no more space, layer up and add your voice on top of those who have already spoken!

Diefenbaker Canada Centre

The Right Honourable John G. Diefenbaker dreamed of a united Canada, one which would find strength through diversity. The Diefenbaker Canada Centre’s (DCC) mandate is to build on this legacy by celebrating citizenship, leadership, human rights and Canada’s role in the international community.

The DCC offers a distinctively Canadian cultural experience. In addition to preserving and interpreting the core collection of personal artifacts bequeathed by Mr. Diefenbaker to the University of Saskatchewan (U of S), the DCC proudly hosts exhibits that interpret the Canadian experience, with a particular emphasis on the culture and heritage of the nation’s many peoples. Education, learning and discovery are foremost in all activities and exhibits.

With free admission, affordable programming, and interpretive tours, the DCC has created a welcoming and accessible environment. This fosters engagement that bridges the gap between the university and the greater Saskatoon community, and between all citizens, irrespective of background.
