Artist Jon Shaw, is also known as the Roaming Illustrator. He illustrates in a variety of places; coffee shops, beaches, and his couch. He combines ink drawing and watercolour to make lovely creations. Shaw takes inspiration from everywhere. Flea markets, nature, and urban spaces. Jon Shaw returned to his home-town of St. Catharines in 2018 and has since presented work in solo exhibitions at Mahtay Café & Lounge and the Niagara Artists Centre (NAC). He also participated in the City’s Juried Exhibit in 2019, resulting in his piece ‘This Way’ being acquired for the City’s Civic Art Collection. Shaw also creates fine art paintings and his current body of work documents the demolition of the former General Hospital on Queenston Street.
