Andrea Howson, SCA, is an acrylic artist living and working in Belwood, Ontario. She attended Sheridan College, in Oakville, where she studied and completed a Fine Arts program with Honours. Initially concentrating on the human form, her focus gradually shifted towards nature and wildlife art.

Her work celebrates bright bold colours, typically acrylic on canvas. Although she is diverse in her subject matter, her current focus is on farm life, stemming from her appreciation, fascination, and love of animals. She strives to give each of her four-legged or winged subjects a personality the viewer can connect with.

With the influences of Van Gogh, Matisse, and Chagall, her style of artwork is naturally fluid, dynamic, and often intensely colourful. Her paintings show movement, rhythm, and energy, and above all, bring her artist’s imagination to life on the canvas.

Andrea is an elected member of the Society of Canada Artists and is also a member of their Board of Directors. She has participated in a variety of shows across Ontario and has won multiple awards. Her paintings can be found in private and corporate collections across Canada and the UK.

The Elora Fergus Studio Tour has been operating for 38 years as a free, annual event to celebrate the abundance of exceptional artists living and working in Centre Wellington. Each artist is juried in by an esteemed panel of experienced artists, and we allow a maximum of 40 participants. We advertise our tour in major cities within a 2 hour radius of Centre Wellington.
