HARVEST/Quesnel Farmers Market
The Quesnel "Old Time" Farmers' Market began in 1988 with a handful of vendors and a warm reception from local shoppers. "Harvest" was established in 1989 as the organizing body for the market and became a non-profit society in 1994. Now, Harvest is directed by a dedicated group of volunteers who are committed to supporting and promoting local agriculture.
1988-1999
The first site of the market was a grass-covered, treed area that was soon to become the current Seniors' Center. The Market then moved to a dusty, gravelled parking lot off of McLean Street, and then to the Legion parking lot.
It was in 1999 that the Market relocated to its present site, the grassy area adjacent to the Helen Dixon School, (school under the management of School District #28), for whose continued help and support of our market we owe much gratitude.
