The Spirit of the South Seas will immerse you on a voyage to the exotic islands of the tropical South Pacific. Reminisce in real time as the dancers take you on an unforgettable journey to Hawaii, Tahiti, Cook Islands and New Zealand - each culture very different from the others. Feel inspired as you journey with the dancers & musicians.

The Spirit of the South Seas is a local group that has wowed audiences throughout the lower mainland, Vancouver Island, and the BC interior for decades. They continue to perform at public events Festivals: the Greek, Caribbean Days, Kitsilano Showboat, PNE, Folkfest. Their past includes historic events such Expo '86, Grey Cup Half-time show, Pope John's visit in 1984, opening of the Vancouver Art Gallery in 1983, the 1976 Montreal Olympics, Premiers' Conference in 1977, Prince Phillip and Prince Andrew's visit in 1978. Their goal is to promote cultural awareness and inclusivity for everyone, and developmental or physical disability should not be a barrier. The group is known for their volunteerism at seniors' facilities, hospitals and community events, which as culminated in recognition & awards for volunteering. Every second Thursday of every month, visit the Parkgate library for a free drop-in lesson, where your questions are answered and you will learn a dance.
