Branscombe House Artist Residency

Krystal Kiran is a Punjabi-Canadian performing artist and educator whose practice explores “third culture” identity and the arts as healing practices. She has performed on Broadway and toured internationally as a featured vocalist with Grammy- and Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman. As an actor, dancer and choreographer, she has performed on a variety of stages including the Shaw Festival and Arts Club.

Branscombe House is a beautifully restored Edwardian style house located in the residential area of historic Steveston in Richmond, BC. The City of Richmond's Department of Arts, Culture and Heritage invites professional artists to apply annually for an 11-month live-in residency program, where the self-contained two-bedroom suite upstairs in offered as an artist residence/studio in exchange for community-engaged programs and projects.

Branscombe House is one of the earliest settler homes built in the area; as such it is significant for its historical association to Steveston and for reflecting the pattern of commercial and related residential development that occurred in Steveston’s early history.
