The Textile Museum of Canada is the largest museum in the country dedicated exclusively to textiles and their role in shaping human experience. Home to a 15,000-object global collection, the Museum offers exhibitions across two floors: a Collection Gallery highlighting historical and cultural textiles, and a contemporary exhibition space showcasing current artists and ideas.
On October 3rd and 4th 2026, between 12pm-5pm, visitors will experience free access to multiple exhibitions and a full slate of hands-on textile activities. Exhibitions include 'Made By Many: 50 Years of the Textile Museum of Canada,' a landmark presentation revisiting over 30 past exhibitions to chart the Museum’s evolution; 'Untitled Palestinian Thobe Exhibition', a showcase of Palestinian Thobes and Veils from our collection; and 'Always in Fashion,' exploring Indigenous design languages and their impact on contemporary fashion.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can participate in DIY textile activities within our learning hub, engage with floor loom activations, and exhibition themed scavenger hunts. This weekend is for all, and demonstrates how our Museum is as an active, working space for learning, making, and cultural exchange.

Visitors can also explore the Textile Learning Hub, designed for hands-on engagement with textile skills and knowledge, the Reuse Program featuring rescued and repurposed fabrics available for purchase, and the Museum Gift Shop. Together, these spaces position the Museum as a dynamic hub for culture, creativity, sustainability, and innovation in textile arts.
