Organisateur
City of Surrey, Surrey Civic Theatres and Surrey Youth
We recognize that Surrey is situated on the unceded traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including Katzie, Kwantlen, and Semiahmoo First Nations.
The City of Surrey is the largest city by land area and second most populated in Metro Vancouver. We are a forward-thinking, globally recognized leader in building vibrant, sustainable communities through technology and innovation. Our city is one of the fastest growing, culturally diverse cities in Canada.
Surrey Civic Theatres are owned and operated by the City of Surrey. Venues include the Main Stage and Studio Theatre inside the Surrey Arts Centre, and Centre Stage located inside Surrey City Hall.
Events held on these stages are both programmed by Surrey Civic Theatres’ staff, as well as presented by organizations and individuals who rent the theatres. Together, they provide the community with a spectrum of performing arts and entertainment options. Surrey Civic Theatres also support the training and development of emerging artists through performing arts classes and workshops including day camps for children, youth, and adults.
Surrey Youth Services offers a range of services and activities for local young people. Youth aged 10–18 can participate in free drop-in activities at Surrey recreation facilities, while at youth spaces they can play games, build connections, and have a safe space to socialize. There is a variety of different youth programs and events, including sports, art, social equity, and leadership. Some of Surrey Youth Services’ large events and programs are the annual Slam Jam, Youth Cooking Showdown, Band-Aid, Youth Speak Up, Surrey Steps Up, and SASSY awards.
