Directions: Pop Up Dances Festival at Vancouver Public Library, Central Branch will take place on the 8th Floor. Pop Up Dances Festival at Granville Island will take place at various locations across Granville Island, all within a small, walkable area. Please refer to newworks.ca for updated maps and details where each performance will take place.

All performances take place in indoor or outdoor non-traditional performance spaces where audiences may sit, stand, or walk as they feel comfortable. Audiences are welcome to come and go as they please.

Get ready to be surprised as new and captivating dance performances pop up in unexpected places across Vancouver Public Library and Granville Island! Pop Up Dances Festival 2024 brings together a vibrant mix of site-specific performances, featuring talented artists from diverse backgrounds - from contemporary Indigenous Powwow Dance to street and contemporary dance and more.

Find Pop Up Dances Festival on Friday (September 20) for an exciting noon-hour performance and artist talk. On Saturday or Sunday (September 21 or 22) join host, performer extraordinaire, Joylyn Secunda will lead audiences on a route of 5 locations, each featuring a site-specific dance performance. The route lasts approximately 60 minutes and audiences are welcome to join us whenever they can along the way.

Pop Up Dances Festival 2024 will feature artists: Kelly McInnes, Carla Alcántara, Nyla Carpentier, Cristina Bucci, Nasiv Kaur Sall, Punit Singh, Alyssa Favero, and Joylyn Secunda.

Rain or shine, Pop Up Dances Festival 2024 promises to delight audiences of all ages. Whether it's the central hub of the Vancouver Public Library or various local businesses at Granville Island, dance will animate the city in fresh and exciting ways!
