presented by Brock University Faculty of Humanities in partnership with the St. Catharines Public Library.

Who were the women of early American film production? What were their roles in building the film industry? And why are they absent from film history's textbooks? Despite a growing awareness of the gender imbalance in Hollywood production today and a belief that the film industry has always been one that employs mostly men - apart from acting - Professor Liz Clarke will take us back to the origins of Hollywood to reveal the many roles for women both on screen and behind the scenes.
