À propos
The Diefenbaker Canada Centre is celebrating Culture Days 2021 with the opening of a new in-house exhibit, Silk, Satin and Strength: A Narrative on Olive Diefenbaker. Visitors will have an opportunity to view Olive's iconic fashions, while learning all about her early life, education and marriage to John Diefenbaker. The exhibit will also touch on Olive’s contributions to women’s rights, their role in politics and her stance on the suffrage movement.
As part of the Culture Days theme "Reimagine," this free online drawing contest asks participants to use their own creativity and inspiration to reimagine 1960s fashion today, for a chance to win some DCC swag! The blank silhouette worksheet will serve as the canvas on which designers can sketch their best outfit! Submitted fashion designs will be shared on social media and posted on the DCC website, in addition to being displayed at the Diefenbaker Canada Centre. Winners will be chosen and announced on the final day of Culture Days.
