We are pleased to host a travelling exhibit from the Canadian Language Museum on the Sign Languages of Canada. This exhibit introduces viewers to six Sign Languages used in Canada: American Sign Language, Langue des signes québécoise, Plains Indian Sign Language, Inuit Sign Language, Maritime Sign Language, and Oneida Sign Language. Maps, videos, and illustrations explore the histories and unique characteristics of these different languages.

This exhibit can be viewed during library hours.

Orillia Public Library

The Orillia Public Library is a fully accessible community and cultural hub in the downtown; we provide free access to books, magazines, DVDs, downloadable resources, and Internet access. Community members are welcome to participate in a wide variety of programs and events, including storytimes, technology learning opportunities, classes for seniors, and programs for children, teens, and adults ranging in topics from art and trivia to yoga, book clubs and more. We also house a large collection of print material and photos documenting Orillia’s storied past available for in-library use in the Local History Room.
