ZUMBA GOLD® is perfect for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba® choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweat, and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong. Class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance!

Christy Stoeten is an independent dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Toronto, Ontario. She is a graduate of The School of Toronto Dance Theatre Professional Training Program. Christy's choreography has been presented by Luminato, Summerworks, The Toronto Dance Community Love-In, Project: Humanity, Public Energy, ArtSpin, Come Up to My Room and Summer Stage Portugal in Lisbon. Her work explores themes that are grounded in daily life experiences, investigating humour in the everyday, and beauty in the mundane. Christy has worked extensively as a dance educator in Toronto. She's a faculty member of The Swansea School of Dance. She has also had the pleasure of teaching for: The National Ballet of Canada YOUdance, Durham District School Board, Luminato, The University of Toronto and The City of Toronto. @christystoetendance

Please note: This six-week session will run every Friday, September 23- October 28, 11 am - 12 pm at Storefront Humber, Inc. (indoors). The building is wheelchair accessible and the dance workshops are free for seniors. To register, please call Bruce Buchanan at 416-259-4207 ext. 232

Dance Together Festival

The Dance Together Festival offers free open-air workshops and events that celebrate positive and accessible dance experiences. Join us for styles including Vernacular Jazz, Latin Fusion, Cuban Salsa, West African, Indigenous Contemporary, Vogue, Hip Hop, Soca and Inclusive Dance. Open to all ages, levels and abilities.

The festival is co-produced by a creative team of local dance and visual artists. Supported by Toronto Arts Foundation, Arts in the Parks, Lakeshore Arts, Storefront Humber, Mimico BIA and York Region Arts Council.
