À propos
Join Mission Genealogy club volunteers to 'unpack that old trunk', and explore the lives of ancestors who faced hard times in their own country and determined to seek new opportunities.
Thousands of families immigrated to Canada, many with only a suitcase, carpet bag, or trunk. With very little space, they had to make choices – what was most important? What could they not bear to part with? Once settled, they unpacked some items, adding others that were important in their new life.
What does your family trunk or heirloom storage include? Join us to open the trunk, choose an item, and share a story of the people, places and experiences of the descendants of those early newcomers.
Organisateur
Mission Genealogy club
Over twenty years ago, a group of people interested in family research began getting together to share skills and ask questions. The Mission Genealogy club is still active, with a monthly meet-up on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00, at the Mission Chamber of Commerce meeting room, Lougheed Highway. Everyone is welcome - guests, former members, newcomers, anyone interested in finding family connections.
