“Together we must do more than just talk about reconciliation” - Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action
This exhibit asks artists to consider the process of healing relationships through sharing truths, apologies, and acknowledgements. The artists are being asked: what does reconciliation mean to you? What does action look like? Is it abstract and complex, a representation of healing, and/or something that can be practiced in our everyday lives?
In the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action, action number 83 asks for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists to undertake collaborative projects and produce works that contribute to the reconciliation process.
The exhibit More than Words: Truth and Reconciliation encourages artists to take action through their art and engage with the truths of indigenous experiences in Canada and address meaningful reconciliation as we move forward together as a community. This exhibit aims to educate and inspire both artists and the community to move from the written words of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada to the actions needed to effect change.

Exhibits in public spaces provide the community an opportunity to experience original art, historic photos, or cultural treasures that reflect St. Catharines' stories, creative self-expression, experiences, and perspectives.
Each year, exhibits are displayed on a rotating basis on the 3rd floor of City Hall, in the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre and Centennial Gardens. These exhibits are co-ordinated by the City's Cultural Services office with support from the Public Art Advisory Committee.
