À propos

The DCC wants you to look at the way we communicate, past and present. Through the intersection of modern and old technology, use our virtual template to design your own postcard!

Email it to us and let use know where you are and what culture means to you! Don’t forget to include your address and we will send you a traditional postcard in return!

Virtual postcards will be collected and turned into an amazing collage on our website, representing the importance of culture, communication and togetherness. Now, more than ever, connection is everything!

Diefenbaker Canada Centre

The Diefenbaker Canada Centre (DCC) is unique for both its location on the University of Saskatchewan campus and appeal to a very diverse audience in terms of age and identity. Our purpose is to help people make meaningful and personal connections to ideas of citizenship, leadership, and Canada’s role in the international community. Of note, we: create and co-create exhibitions, programs, and special events; generate dialogues and conversations on citizenship, leadership, and Canada’s role in the international community; are financially viable; are environmentally conscious; steward the permanent collection; and create an environment where people are empowered and supported. We have four key attributes for all our operations and endeavors: experiential, applicable, relevant and accessible. To be experiential, we are hands-on and discovery- and collections-focused. In applicable and relevant, we seek to foster creativity, co-creation, integrity and credibility, diversity, and sustainability. In accessible, we encourage collaboration, service, and relationship-building. The DCC team has utilized these attributes wherever possible in our two primary ventures: exhibits and programming. Our exhibits are designed to appeal to both older patrons and much younger audiences. In terms of educational programming, the DCC’s main programs target children in grades K-8, yet everyone can use online materials for their consumption on the website. Although the Covid-19 closures and restrictions brought an immediate halt to most ongoing initiatives, we have used the unique circumstances to bolster the DCC’s social media presence, expand our online portfolio, and foster and nurture partnerships with key social and cultural groups.
