À propos

The event will introduce the audience to the nuances of South Indian Percussion Instrument. We will be focusing on the "Mridangam" which is the most ancient percussion instrument known to man. We will be exposing the audience to the practical realization of a unique interplay of mathematical consistency and rhythmic beauty, brought about through the instrument. Music will be presented as a language of nature. Different modulations, tonalities, and variations of South Indian Percussion will be clearly elucidated in the session.

Vibrant Brampton

This event is conducted by the Mridangam Trio, which consists of three members, namely, Sriram Balasubramanian, Sriram Ganapathi, and Arya Sundar.

Sriram Balasubramanian is a highly passionate Mridangist. He has a passion to train students on Mridangam with a great deal of emphasis on tonal clarity, complex laya structuring and imparting techniques related to the fine art of accompanying other instruments.

Sriram Ganapathi’s specialization is to highlight the art of contrasting elements in rhythm patterns, with the ability to bring ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ strokes in Mridangam instrument.

Arya Sundar, the third member of the trio loves to evolve and experiment with new compositions in Mridangam.
