À propos
Join us to celebrate the Library's new public art display, Flight of the Knowledge Keepers by Annwin.
Flight of the Knowledge Keepers is a public art installation inspired by the Carrying Place Trail, a path of trade and travel that has been used for thousands of years. The work represents the cyclical journey of learning, oral traditions and knowledge sharing among community, family and friends, carried from within and out into the world on the wings of each individual journey of flight through life.
About the Artist: Annwin is a self-taught mixed-First Nations artist with a passion for creating, particularly in watercolour. She began her artistic journey during the pandemic and in the years since has explored opportunities across Toronto and York Region to support her growth as an emerging artist. Annwin enjoys making her own paints and art supplies by hand, honing her skills in traditional beading, and spending time with her two dogs.
