Local artists Sandeep Johal and Phyllis Atkins have solo exhibitions that showcase their versatile artmaking and storytelling skills.

Later in the fall, throughout the Arts Centre, “Seven Stories” will feature photographs by women from Iraq, Syria, and Jordan newly living in the Lower Mainland, organized by Progressive Intercultural Community Services, as well as Manuel Piña’s video installation “Naufragios,” which speaks to migration through kaleidoscopic images of the ocean. On the windows of Surrey Arts Centre will be a vinyl mural by Atheana Picha that celebrates the significance of Coast Salish Mountain goat horn bracelets.
