Project Nishin is creating a space for connection and sharing of ideas among Indigenous creatives during a global health pandemic. Connection, community and StoryTelling are the heart of theatre creation. The artists involved are all brilliant innovators in their diverse fields of creation within the theatre world and no doubt will produce profound, nishin works on video, but those works are secondary to Project Nishin's vision, which is to create a safe enough space for artists to reach back and stretch forward towards healing, while we all stand together in the centre of this storm.
The series of 5 videos will are supported by Fringe North and the Arts Council of Algoma and will be available to view at fringenorth.ca

Fringe North International Theatre Festival
Fringe North International Theatre Festival is Sault Ste. Marie's local Fringe festival! The Fringe theatre movement started in 1947 in Edinburgh, Scotland, still home to the world’s largest fringe festival. The first Canadian fringe festival was founded in Edmonton in 1982. Since then the movement has spread across the continent and the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals currently boasts 30 member festivals across Canada and the United States. Fringe North is also a member of the World Congress of Fringe Festivals which boats 250 Fringes world-wide.
