À propos

How much do you know about Korea? Are you interested in Korean art?

Learn the culture and history behind the art of Korea. Join us as we explore the history of Korean visual arts from the Joseon (pronounced like Jo-sun) era.

Our webinar series will provide a couple of free lectures exploring the art forms from the royal to the common people of old Korea "Joseon." Dr. Song, our distinguished guest from one of Korea's best recognized universities in arts, Ehwa Womans University, will speak as follows;

Webinar 1: The Royal House of Joseon

Will discuss court art decorating the Royal House of Joseon Dynasty, a medieval kingdom in Korean history.

Webinar 2: The People of Joseon

Will discuss the paintings manifesting the daily life of people in Joseon.

Interpreter: Edward Yoon (University of Toronto Honours Bachelor of Arts student)

The webinars will be interactive with the audience and your questions will be answered by our team and Dr. Song as time permits. Best questions go in a raffle for gift cards!

Reserve your spot and we will invite you with our Zoom code. Please feel free to join both of our Zoom webinars as they are not repetitions but complementary looks at different topics.

The Korean-Canadian Artists’ Society of Canada (KASC) was launched in 1980 by a group of Korean-Canadian immigrant artists. It was established as an official society in 1992. Since then, it has solidified its place in Canada as a creative Fine Arts group. The KASC holds gallery tours, art seminars, and annual exhibitions. Several of our members adjudicate for children’s art contests. With over 71 members, KASC is one of the largest Korean immigrant artist groups in North America.
