À propos
Using black crayons/markers and lined pad paper visitors will be invited to make minimalist drawings of what home is to them.
We invite you to reflect on what home means to you; is it a place on a map? Ancestral origins? Is it shelter? Is it something we choose? A feeling? A person? A community? Can we define home in ways that transcend physical, political, cultural and imaginary boundaries?
Drawings will then be hung on display in a grid in AUArts’ Main Mall. This project is aesthetically based on Vessna Perunovich’s work The Archive of Insignificant Losses featured in the exhibition, Shifting Shelter on view at the Alberta University of the Arts, Illingworth Kerr Gallery (IKG) from Sept 12 - Nov 2, 2019.
