Learn the calming and meditative practice of adding ink lines to abstract art. Through this workshop, I will guide you to make your own abstract piece of art and then together we will add ink lines to it. Crooked, straight, curvy, thin and thick. The process of adding lines will gradually result in an intricate network and slowly odd little shapes will start to emerge. This process will calm your mind while gently exercising it at the same time. Lastly, we will all play a game that I like to call, "What do you see?". You will be surprised by the number of different interpretations we will hear at the end!

Supplies required:

Paper:

Ideal option: 140lb paper Cold Press Paper in any form

Alternate option: Watercolour paper, or cardstock paper

Paint:

Ideal option: Winsor and Newton Watercolours: i.e. Cotman series

Alternate option: any student grade or children’s watercolour paint

Brushes:

Ideal option: Watercolour brushes

Alternate option: Any paintbrushes of varying sizes

Pens:

Ideal option: Ink pens: i.e. Sakura's Micron ink pen sizes 005 , 01 and 08

Alternate option: felt tip pens, thin Sharpies

Misc:

Hand towel and a cup of water

Optional:

Basic hairdryer (recommended to speed up drying process between washes)
