À propos
The Peachland Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present Creative Ignition, an inaugural two-day event bringing together an intriguing group of artists at the Peachland Historic School and Visitor Centre.
Creative Ignition will run September 27-28, featuring a variety of works from local, yet well known talent, including Geert Maas, Alex Fong, Lee Claremont, and Susan Neill.
Artists will be painting on site, and there will be opportunities for interactive activities. Learn about our history, and about the bat colony residing in our attic.
The exhibition itself will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Peachland Visitor Centre, located in the Historic Peachland School at 5684 Beach Avenue in Peachland. Admission is free to the public.

We are the Peachland Visitor Centre and Legends of the Lake Interpretive Centre. Our story begins in 1908 when our current home, the Historic Schoolhouse, was built. Over the next 100 years, this building would be filled with children’s laughter and filling their budding minds with knowledge. We are proud to have transformed our visitor centre into not only travel services, but an interactive centre with our ‘Gathering Peachland’s Past...’ historic display in conjunction with the Syilx peoples & our Bat Education & Ecological Protection Society. It was known for decades that a large bat colony was inhabiting the attic of the old schoolhouse, which was built in 1908. We have learned that this colony is a maternity roost for over 2000 Yuma Myotis and Little Brown Myotis. We provide interactive educational opportunities for school groups, scouts and girl guides, as well as the general public.
